Ugh. I have alot of respect for Marc Anderseen but the whole not seeing the forest for the trees mentality is a product of the media not the thinkers.
What news channel, from CNN to Digg to this blog, wants to talk about what is coming in the coming months and years? Right, none. Why? Because media consumption is a now proposition. I believe we discussed that ad nauseam shortly after MTV launched.
The point is that the big thinkers and doers are looking at long term, expandable and sustainable models. Unfortunately those are not the ones anyone wants to talk about. Further more, what company is interested in pursuing strategies that will help them in a year? At the moment it seems like they're all being overly reactionary.
